Moskau

Hostel Simba, Day 4

Uncle Lenin sleeps in his mausoleum. Seeing that was one of many musts I'll be facing during the next months. Done that Now, as well as Kreml, Gum, War memorial and so on. Moscow is a huge metropol where serious, blackdressed and modern Russians live their lives. It can mean beeing a guard of a mall or worryfree hostel worker. Whatever guys do here, they do it in real Russian style. And the next morning they use the spectacularly beautiful metro system to come back for another day at work.

Meanwhile,
I am here trying to find  the balance between a tourist and a (round the world) traveller. Updates coming up!

Speaking about the metro, i can not call it very VIP-friendly. The first photo below is a stop list, located high above my eyes on top of the metro door. I could not see it and trying to do that I was on the way! In addiktin, it was more or less the first list of stops I met. Thank god the street furniture, signs, guidelinesis there are loads of good examples too!!! Btw, pic2: can you see the stairs??
-if not, Don't worry !!..there is a ramp for vip's with Red carpet! Haha! Picture is from the museum of great patriotic war.

Moscow Bottom2: prices & our hostel kitchen.
Moscow Top2: kick-off & see next paragraph!

The absolute climax for 3 interesting days in the capital of Russia was dinner tonight. Thanks to my iPhone and Olli's paper map we were able to find restaurant called Dans le Noir. It is one of the total dark restaurants in Europe simulating the life of a blind person. Yes u know this is important to me on so many levels, but doing the experience with waiters who know hardly any English made it unique! Besides, the food was tasty!

Our room here on Arabat street is pretty much the size of a cleaning closet. Who cares? Moscow was a nice kick-off for an adventure. My plan for the upcoming days; Make a dream happen...

Lähtövalmiina

Pengerstudio, last night before leaving

Lähtövalmiina

Olen niin lähellä, hetkeä, jolloin viimeinen biisi pannaan pyörimään. Yes indeed! Backpack is ready, just a few things to goole in the morning and then it is time to hop on Tolstoi-train direction Moscow. After that me and Olli will go far to the east. Adios!

So many things I was planning to tell you guys before leaving. Starting from more specific plans, explaining the web address of the blog and so on, but what a hassle the preparation time has been! I promise to be less mysterious when I find my time for blogging on the road. Part of the dream of travelling is losing the feeling of rush and finding the ability to relax also in strange conditions.

Life has been just wonderful the past moths, and I sure hope and my trip is going to be the same. First four weeks we are trying to survive some  enormous language barriers and see world that is completely new for both of us. Second part of my journey will be hot and dry and last but not least I will finally get a chance to taste a big ass fat real burger.

97 days of adventure are waiting! Keep in touch, guys!

Final countdown

Kalliossa 3 days before leaving

The Final countdown is on! Almost everything is prepared and tonight we enjoy some farewell beers. And most important; this is online Now!! Stay tuned.

I want to break free!

Kallio, Helsinki sometime in November 2013.

I want to break free

Welcome everyone! This is a page where I reflect things I see and do not see. Some people could call it diary, some blog. For me it will be a channel to say I am alive and making my dreams come true. I will write only in English ‘cause I hope my friends all over the world are interested. Please forgive me for all the mistakes. I hope the content saves me and makes you smile as a reader.

Let me take you back in time a bit. One warm Wednesday night last May in Kreuzberg, Berlin I was talking to my friends Olga and Zoe.  I told them I have one semester left studying social work in my Uni. After this topic I heard myself telling them about my little plan afterwards. I guess I had the plan in my mind for a long time, but the comfort and tipsiness I felt in Berlin made me say it out loud: I’m going to travel round the world!!

Since that I have written my thesis and done everything keeping in my mind that I will pack my bag in coming January and leave. It is frightening but hey, why not doing it! Oh yes, I told you that I will write about things I do not see. This means my texts wont be just updating what's going on ... I will pay attention for some very important aspects that matter for me on both personal and professional level. But more about that in the future...
